IOup LLC ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Drive Prep NC mobile application (the "App") and the Drive Prep NC website at driveprepnc.ioup.io (the "Website"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our App and Website.
Our Privacy Commitment
Drive Prep NC was designed with privacy as a core principle. We do not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal data to external servers. All information you enter into the App remains exclusively on your device. No account or internet connection is required.
Information Storage
Data Stored Locally on Your Device
The App stores the following information locally on your device only:
- Test History: Date, score, duration, mode (practice or exam), per-question answers, and topic breakdowns for each test session
- Question Progress: IDs of missed, learned, and bookmarked questions
- User Preferences: Settings such as dark mode, show explanations, timer enabled, and exam no-reveal mode
This data is stored using on-device local storage. This information never leaves your device and is never transmitted to us or any third party.
Information We Do NOT Collect (App)
- We do not collect personal information from the App
- We do not collect usage analytics or telemetry from the App
- We do not collect device identifiers
- We do not collect crash reports automatically
- We do not share any data with third parties
- We do not display advertisements
- We do not require an account or login
- We do not require an internet connection
Website Analytics
Our Website may use analytics services to collect anonymous usage data such as pages visited, time spent on the site, approximate geographic location, browser type, and referring website. This information helps us understand how visitors use our Website and improve the experience.
This applies only to the Website, not the App. The Drive Prep NC App does not use any analytics service.
Third-Party Services
The Drive Prep NC App does not integrate with any third-party analytics platforms, advertising networks, or cloud storage providers. The App functions entirely offline and does not require an internet connection.
Data Security
Your data is protected by your device's built-in security features, including:
- Device encryption
- Screen lock/passcode protection
- Biometric authentication (if enabled on your device)
Since data never leaves your device, there is no risk of server-side data breaches.
Data Retention and Deletion
- Your data remains on your device until you delete it
- You can reset all data (test history, progress, and preferences) within the App's Settings screen
- Uninstalling the App will remove all associated data from your device
Children's Privacy
Drive Prep NC is intended for use by individuals preparing for the NC DMV knowledge test, which may include minors. Since we do not collect any personal information, we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. All data remains locally on the device under the control of the device owner.
Your Rights
Since all data is stored locally on your device and we have no access to it, you maintain complete control over your information. You can:
- View all your data within the App (test history, progress, settings)
- Delete any or all of your data at any time via the Settings screen
- Uninstall the App to remove all data
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.
